Kellie Claunch, chair


Kellie has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1998. She was introduced to the wonderful friendship network of the sorority when the family moved to Baytown, TX and her mother joined a chapter to meet people in town. She became a legacy there, and she joined her current chapter, Alpha Chi, when she settled in Austin after college.


Kellie was one of the co-chairs of the 2003 Texas State Convention in Austin.




Joanne Rossa, co-chair


Joanne joined Beta Sigma Phi after college in 1968 as a Ritual of Jewel in a newly formed chapter, Upsilon, in New Jersey. When her husband transferred to Austin in 1976, she transferred to Alpha Chi and later progressed to Xi Tau Beta. She is currently a Laureate member of Preceptor Mu Tau Chapter. During her membership, she has served in all chapter offices as well as City Council President, Advisor and Recording Secretary. She worked on three State Conventions in Austin: Photography Chairman for Storybook Weekend in 1973, Recording Secretary and Closing Ritual Chairman for Silk & Satin Celebration in 1993 and entertained as "Merlin", Skit Chairman for Magic & Mystery in 2003. She is excited about Co-Chairing "A Starlight Adventure" and looks forward to dazzling you all with our Austin hospitality. As a 42 year member, "I love BSP for the many friendships I've made along the way and the opportunities our sorority offers us to be the best we can be". See you all in Austin in 2011!






Alma Ball, recording secretary


Alma has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1996. She is currently a member of Xi Alpha Delta, where she is serving her third term as president of her chapter. She has also held all other offices at one time or another during her years in BSP.


Although this will be Alma's first time to attend a State Convention, she is looking forward to making this the first of many more.




Donna Oliver, corresponding secretary


Donna joined Beta Sigma Phi Galveston, TX in 1960 then moved to Houston where she was active in chapter and council from 1961 to 1987. Life then took her to Las Vegas, NV. During her 19 years in Vegas, she served as President of City Council and Council Advisor / Sponsor from 1993 to 1998. In February of 2006, she returned to Texas where she joined her present chapter, Preceptor Theta Pi.


During her time in Houston, she worked on many great conventions. She was also Co-Chairman of the 1996 convention in Las Vegas, NV. Her 50 years in Beta Sigma Phi has truly enriched her life.




Kay Thornton, treasurer


Kay has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1987. She is currently a member of Preceptor Mu Tau.
